Winter

I am home from trip to Dallas.  In the 5 days I was gone, the trees shed the the rest of their leaves, and I returned to a new, winter landscape.  This came as a surprise to me as I went on an early morning run with Luka two days ago.  The neighborhood showed a new face, and the once familiar streets were now clothed in a wardrobe I hadn’t recognized.  The shade from the trees was gone and the homes seemed exposed and solitary.  Children were inside, no one was working in their yards.  It’s good, this change.  The routine of my running routes was getting stale,  now I have a whole new world to look at, until spring.
